Indiscriminate Multiplication of UNSOUND false teachers

February 22, 2015

THEY SHALL HEAP TO THEMSELVES: Indiscriminate Multiplication of UNSOUND false teachers:

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

We reckon the UNSOUND “CHURCHES” will out number SOUND CHURCHES going forward:

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Sadly we keep seeing, hearing, and getting this from others: “We cannot find a sound church in our area.”

We reckon we are getting closer and closer to the times like Noah:

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Think about it: ONLY 8 Souls were saved amongst the enormous amounts of people who were destroyed in the days of Noah by the flood.

When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

We want to thank those who have been concerned and take a moment to reply to the comments of “are we still alive?” and try to give a glimpse of why we have taken some time away from posting. Yes, we are all still alive, but because one of us who does most of the posting has been having health and disability issues it has taken us away to take care of those abounding needs.

We also have been dealing with potential transitional issues like looking for a better handicap accessible place to live, better ADA equipment, and trying to figure out how to deal with those things that are no longer physically feasible to do.

Though we have not been able to post in awhile, we have been surprised at the continued volume of visits and views from all over the world and thus has given us a strong incentive to get back to posting. If health issues improve and we can better accommodate those things that surround disability issues. Lord willing, we will be posting more often.

We thank those who have been able to help and those who pray for these often painful afflictions and difficult times.

We thought we would add a few videos and website links (below) that might be helpful for the disabled or for those of you who are healthy and have the means to help the disabled. Though we cannot endorse all those videos and links, we hope it will give you ideas of what could really help some to be more independent and less of a burden on others. Let’s not forget that in bearing burdens we are fulfilling the law of Christ:

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

These burdens are not necessarily people with disabilities, but they could be. The word “Bear” certainly gives the idea of enduring another’s weight of difficulties or troubles. These burdens surely could also be peculiar temptations, easily besetting sins, sorrows, and errors one needs help in overcoming (Gal 6:1). Romans focus is also on the stronger bearing infirmities (ασθενημα: scruple of conscience; ignorance) of the weak brother (Rom 14:1) pertaining to days and eating (Rom 14:5):

Romans 15:1-3 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

Galatians 5:13-14 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Church history has shown that Antinomians, Licentiousness, and the Liberty of the flesh has a strong tendency of misusing the doctrines of grace (2 Pet 2:1-22; Jude 1:4; Tit 2:11-13). “To be freed from the ceremonial law is the Gospel liberty; to pretend freedom from the moral law is Antinomianism.” (Adam Clark). The true manifestations of grace should be serving by loving one another.

Philippians 2:1-8 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

When I’ve seen others carry large loads for the disabled (and myself) they tend to grow weary in bearing the weight and the concern is that they endure and faint not in the bearing of the weight.

Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Perhaps before we start in our well doing, we ought to take some time and think about Christ’s LOVE for us and what He DID for us:

1 John 3:16-18 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

We have seen many types of infirmities of the weak:

– Infirmity in youth and inexperience (there is a great need for the stronger to bear these weak youth, often in teaching and guidance)

– Infirmity in age (there is a great need of visiting those aged in afflictions and can easily be found in nursing homes, adult homes, by knocking on a door …)

Let’s not forget James 1:27:

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

– Infirmities mentally (developmentally disabled)

– Infirmities in physical disabilities (blindness, deaf, mute, paralysis, etc.)

– Infirmities in lack of education and spiritual discernment

1 Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Comfort the feeble-minded (ολιγοψυχος little-spirited): The dispirited; faint-hearted; the downcast.

The weak: Who are weak in faith and knowledge.

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Having been around many disabled people, most do not want emotional pity, but a true compassionate commitment of actions and understanding of what is helpful.

Matthew 9:36-38 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Often those with infirmities can experience fear, frustration, isolation, fatigue, loneliness, unanswered questions, longing for escape, apathy, hope for healing, anger, etc.

Also, we have seen those who neglect those with infirmities because of fear, awkwardness, jealousy, embarrassment, frustration, losing heart (or “burnout”), choosing pleasure of sins instead of suffering in well doing, etc.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Hebrews 11:25-27 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Ephesians 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Luke 14:12-14 Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

(Caution: Joni is very ecumenical and sadly ignorant on some health issues)

Mark 7:32-37 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

Mark 2:1-12 And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Matthew 11:4-5 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Leviticus 19:14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

Deuteronomy 27:18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Exodus 4:10-11 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

John 9:2-7 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

PRAGMATIC Willow Creek Association “partnering with Compassion International”

June 22, 2014

Willow Creek Association admits to partnering with Compassion International in this below video (starting at around minute 2:45):

Below the above video it says: “See how the partnership between Compassion International and the Willow Creek Association changed the lives of 3003 children just in 2012.”

Not all spiritual “change” is good. We have seen many organizations offering physical help, while at the same time offering “spiritual change” that was not biblically based and actually spiritually harmful.

This ecumenicism should come as no surprise as “Jim Mellado has been selected as the successor of Wess Stafford as the CEO and President of Compassion International. Jim Mellado previously served as President of the Willow Creek Association (WCA) for twenty years.”  In fact in Jim’s bio it says: “In 1995, Jimmy [Jim Mellado] teamed up with Bill Hybels to launch and host The Global Leadership Summit.” (

At little after minute 26:30 Jim talks about his relationship with Bill Hybles… and Bill talks about Jim via taped video after minute 41.

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matthew 23:25-28 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Jim promotes the deceptive and ungodly “Son of God” movie and James Emery White’s book called “Imagine” (a spokesman for many of the seeker movement’s ideas).

Pragmatic and Ecumenical False teacher Billy Hybles is the Senior pastor of Willow Creek Church and chairman of the board of Willow Creek Association that was founded in 1992 and claims to have over 90 + denominations involved with them. If that does not raise a red flag in this day and age of so many unsound denominations, what will? They also promote the “American Bible Society” where you can get a variety of corrupt bibles, and some Catholic ecumenicism. They are also involved in “Engage International” where you can pick from a variety of false teachers to choose from (for example): Psychologists Henry Cloud, Emerging/Contemplative Philosopher Dallas Willard, and Bill Hybles to name a few. Willow Creek Church and Willow Creek Association is your seeker-sensitive type of people (flattering without openly rebuking a sinful generation) filled with and promoting all kinds of different EVIL deceptions. Here are a few:

1. Promote Deceptive Codependency/Recovery programs

2. Promote a Variety of deceptive Anonymous programs

3. Promote Deceptive Self-love, Self-esteem, and Psychological Counseling

4. Promote the false and deceptive doctrine of Unconditional Acceptance

5 Promote Deceptive Ecumenicism (from Pat Robertson to Chuck Colson, Luis Palau, Tony Campolo, Rob Bell,  Catholics, 7th day Adventist, Muslims, etc.)

“Willow’s openness to leaders from outside Christianity — whether Hindu, Buddhist, agnostic, or atheist — attracts consistent criticism from some conservative Christians.” (“learning from the business world” and those pictures of wicked leaders in the diagram in this above link tell a lot.)

6. Promote Deceptive views on the evils of Homosexuality

7. Promote the Deceptions of Yoga

8. They Deceptively are void of a Biblical call to Repentance of many sins

9. They promote the Deceptive use of Entertainment, Drama, and CCM

10. They Deceptively allow a Humanistic gospel

11. They Deceptively allow a New Age gospel

12. They Deceptively allow and promote Mysticism

13. Promote the deceptions of the 4 Temperaments

13. Promote the deception of Contemplative

Willow Creek basically provides unrepentant Pagans, New-Agers, Homosexuals, Atheists, Socialists, Communists, Marxists, Humanists, Feminists and Liberals a place to express their “felt needs” and eventually they find themselves building up those teachers who will fulfill their itchy ear desires with an evil Christianized version of deception and fables.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

What are the kids going to be taught under this leadership and ecumenicalism? What type of curriculum are they going to get? Who is or will be providing the curriculum being used by the kids they are helping? Sadly many of these teachers in foreign countries are often poor, lacking discernment, and trusting the leadership of Compassion International.

It should be noted that Willow Creek is not the only one that concerns us, as the Compassion International ecumenicism is quite broad. We know that Compassion International (CI) is involved with those who are involved with:

1. Those who are involved in the Emerging church

2.Those whose message contradicts the gospel (like Doug Pagitt, 7th day Adventists, and many others)

-CI openly promotes false teacher Doug Pagitt at:

-CI openly promotes false teacher Tony Campolo at:

3. Those who promote Contemplatives and Emerging Spirituality (CI staff was also involved in a Contemplative Retreat in Corbett, Oregon:

4. Those who promote Psychoheresy

5. Those who promote Evolution

6. Those who reject the Inerrancy of Scripture

We could go on and on with our list, but those who have an understanding of how bad Willow Creek is to begin with, we would reckon it’s not really needed to go on. Those who cannot see how bad Willow Creek is, we reckon your blindness might remain unless you take the Word of God and test Willow Creek in light of the Scriptures. Though we do not expect nominal Christians to understand or even care about the spiritual deception being brought to the kids and teachers all over the world by Compassion International. We know how easy it is for man to be focused on the physical needs and see physical accomplishments being advanced, while spiritual endeavors are neglected or corrupted with unsound doctrines.

“Three ‘of the most outspoken’ leaders of the emerging church (Tony Jones, Doug Pagitt, and Mark Scandrette) will be going on a national road tour this summer and are receiving sponsorship from several large organizations. Some of those sponsors are, Jossey-Bass, Compassion International, International Bible Society, and Zondervan. The three men will hit 32 cities with their message of ‘a 21st century gospel.’ Pagitt states they are taking their ‘invitation of hope and good news to people around the country. . . preaching a fresh way of life and faith–one that is in rhythm with the life of God.’ Unfortunately, this ‘fresh way’ consists of a message that contradicts the gospel message of the Bible. Doug Pagitt, pastor of Solomon’s Porch in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an advocate of Christian yoga…” (Light house trails, May 22, 2008)

“Bill Hybels and the Willow Creek Community Church have jumped onboard the mystical bandwagon, and Willow Creek is not only one megachurch that is located west of Chicago; it is also a network of more than 12,000 churches that hold the same philosophy.” (David Cloud, Apr/15/13, Way of Life Literature)

“Some Seventh-day Adventist churches are listed as members of the Willow Creek Community Church Association founded by church growth guru Bill Hybels” (David Cloud, Sep/22/08, Way of life Literature).

“Two recent developments in the story shed light on the new brand of apostasy Willow Creek is unfolding and why the world wants churches to sell out completely. Today, Exodus President Alan Chamber released a statement revealing that Willow Creek no longer believed that people could change from homosexuality.” (Gay Christian Movement Watch, August 11, 2011; updated 8/12)

“Lynn Hybels, wife of Willow Creek pastor and founder Bill Hybels is a regular writer for Jim Wallis’ SoJourners magazine. Wallis is also a “spiritual” advisor to Obama.”  (Light House Trails, Feb 7, 2011)

“For Willow Creek to include a speaker at the Leadership Summit who agrees with Michael Ray’s Eastern/New Age philosophies on spirituality to the point of actually writing the foreword to this book, is almost unbelievable!” (Light House Trails Aug 10, 2006)

“As Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, and most other major leaders in Christianity today, stand arm and arm with contemplatives and emerging spirituality, those who understand biblical prophecy about the days prior to Christ’s return will realize that history is being made. But unfortunately, Scripture warns that Satan will deceive the whole world (Revelation 12:9) and that a great falling away will occur. Let us be sober-minded and diligent to stand for biblical truth and the Gospel that alone can save the soul that turns to Jesus Christ in humility and repentance, acknowledging Him to be God, Lord, and Savior.” (Light House Trials, Nov 13, 2007)

Lucifer would like to be omniscient (like God), watching over the world. But Lucifer is NOT GOD, thus he has to build a sophisticated global surveillance system so he can try to bring all people under his control in the New World Order. This below video may be just one of the many tools to do so. Remember the Bible says Lucifer said: “I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH.”

Isaiah 14:12-14 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

“…infant baptism is far from being harmless. On the contrary, that it is one of the most calamitous evils with which the church has ever been visited. … INFANT BAPTISM IS AN EVIL BECAUSE ITS PRACTICE IS UNSUPPORTED BY THE WORD OF GOD … Evil is found prevailing even in the professed churches of Christ! … In no form, however, has it afflicted the cause of truth and salvation more grievously, than in that of infant baptism; a rite generally prevalent, but without divine authority; repulsive in itself, and in its consequences always injurious… Is infant baptism supported by the Word of God? I aver that it is not. It is nowhere commanded. It is nowhere, in any form, divinely authorised. Examine the holy record, from first to last, and you will discover not a trace of infant baptism. If it is anywhere commanded, or authorised, the passages in which that fact appears, can be produced. Where are they? Let them be forthcoming. We have a right to see, and to examine them, for ourselves. We demand the texts. But this demand has before been often made, and always in vain. They have never been produced. They have not yet been found. They never can be found. They do not exist. The Word of God, in all its length and breadth, contains not a syllable of authority for infant baptism, in the form of command, of precept, of permission, of example, or in any other form whatever. In that sacred book not one word in relation to it, is anywhere uttered. He who claims divine authority for infant baptism, must justify himself by adducing it. … Martin Luther, the great father of the Reformation, says:—‘It cannot be proved by the scriptures, that infant baptism was instituted by Christ, or begun by the first Christians after the apostles’.1  John Calvin testifies thus:—‘It is nowhere expressly mentioned by the evangelists, that any child was by the apostles baptised’.2 … Infant baptism is not found in any form in the Bible. Every effort to deduce it from the sacred records, no matter how ingeniously conducted, has proved a wretched failure. It is confessed by its advocates that it is not found in the inspired pages. Infant baptism is therefore, unsupported by the Word of God.” [Emphasis added]

– Robert Boyte C. Howell

What doth hinder me to be baptized?

Acts 8:34-39 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Many false teachers are promote the heresy of Infant Baptism:

Sadly many professed Christians and teachers who have no scriptural support for Infant Baptism have turned to the fable of infant baptism.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Billy Graham deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

Billy Graham grew up going to a Presbyterian Church and then joined the Southern Baptist Church but his wife Ruth remained a Presbyterian. In 1961, Billy Graham in an interview with the Lutheran Standard shows you how Billy Graham was deceived by the evils and heresy of infant baptism also:

“I have some difficulty in accepting the indiscriminate baptism of infants without a careful regard as to whether the parents have any intention of fulfilling the promise they make. But I DO BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING HAPPENS AT THE BAPTISM OF AN INFANT, particularly if the parents are Christians and teach their children Christian Truths from childhood. We cannot fully understand the miracles of God, but I BELIEVE THAT A MIRACLE CAN HAPPEN IN THESE CHILDREN SO THAT THEY ARE REGENERATED, THAT IS, MADE CHRISTIAN, THROUGH INFANT BAPTISM. If you want to call that baptismal regeneration, that’s all right with me” (Graham, interview with Wilfred Bockelman, associate editor of the Lutheran Standard, American Lutheran Church, Lutheran Standard, October 10, 1961). [Emphasis Added]

Charles Spurgeon said:

“… you have this baptismal regeneration, preparing stepping stones to make it easy for men to go to Rome. … I pray you never rest upon this wretched and rotten foundation, this deceitful invention of antichrist.”

– Charles Spurgeon (from his sermon titles Baptismal Regeneration)

Martin Luther deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

“To put it most simply, the power, effect, benefit, fruit, and purpose of Baptism is to save. No one is baptized in order to become a prince, but as the words say, to ‘be saved.’ To be saved, we know, is nothing else than to be delivered from sin, death, and the devil and to enter into the kingdom of Christ and live with him forever.”

– Martin Luther (Quoted from The Large Catechism)

“The false sacramental gospel of ‘Baptismal Regeneration,” as proclaimed by Martin Luther and others, has probably (God only knows) led more people to hell than any other error propagated and tolerated within the ranks of professing Christianity.”

– Dwight Oswald

Michael Horton deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

“In Baptism, we have been swept into the new creation and in the Supper we are actually fed with the body and blood of Christ as pilgrims on the way to the Promised land …”

– Michael Horton (in the May/June 1997 issue of Modern Reformation, p.14.)

Don Matzat deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

“I have on numerous occasions discussed if not debated the subject of infant Baptism with callers on my daily radio program. The scenario is always the same. The opponent of infant Baptism is put off by the fact that we teach and confess that an infant can become a believing Christian by God’s grace through Baptism. … ”

– Don Matzat (LCMS)

Pope John Paul II deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

“The fact that Christianity is a religion of salvation is expressed in the sacramental life of the Church. … Baptism and the Eucharist [are] sacraments which create in man the seed of eternal life.

– Pope John Paul II (Quoted from Crossing the Threshold of Hope, pp. 74-75)

Pope Francis deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

John Calvin deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

“…at whatever time we are baptised, we are washed and purified once for the whole life…we must…recall our baptism…so as to feel certain and secure of the remission of sins…it wipes and washes away all our defilements” (IV: xv, 3).

“God in baptism promises the remission of sins, and will undoubtedly perform what he has promised to all believers. That promise was offered to us in baptism, let us therefore embrace it in faith” (IV: xxv, 17).

“We have…a similar promise given to the fathers in circumcision, similar to that which is given to us in baptism…the forgiveness of sins and the mortification of the flesh….We deny…that…the power of God cannot regenerate infants….Let God, then, be demanded why he ordered circumcision to be performed on the bodies of infants…by baptism we are ingrafted into the body of Christ (1 Cor xii.13). [Therefore] infants…are to be baptised…” (IV: xv, 22; xvi, 3, 4, 8, 10, 17-32)

– John Calvin (Institutes)

“Today’s Calvinists avoid the uncomfortable fact that in all of his voluminous writings, Calvin never tells of being born again through faith in Christ. He considered himself to have been a Christian from the moment of his Roman Catholic infant baptism: ‘…at whatever time we are baptised, we are washed and purified once for the whole life…we must recall…our baptism…so as to feel certain and secure of the remission of sins…it wipes and washes away all our defilements.’21 He trusted in that baptism as proof that he was one of the elect22 and denounced all who, like today’s evangelical ex-Catholics, were baptized after believing the gospel.
Those saved out of Catholicism and baptized as believers were known as Anabaptists and were persecuted by Catholics, Lutherans, and Calvinists. Of such, near the time of his conversion to Luther’s Protestantism, Calvin wrote, ‘One should not be content with simply killing such people, but should burn them cruelly.’23 Calvin banished them from Geneva in 1537.24 How could today’s born-again and baptized former Catholics consider Calvin as one of them? They couldn’t–and wouldn’t.”

R.C. Sproul deceived by the evils of Infant Baptism

“Regeneration is the gift of God’s grace. It is the immediate, supernatural work of the Holy Spirit wrought in us. Its effect is to quicken us to spiritual life from spiritual death. It changes the disposition of our souls, inclining our hearts to God. The fruit of regeneration is faith. Regeneration precedes faith. Infants can be born again, although the faith that they exercise cannot be as visible as that of adults.” [Emphasis added]

The Treaty of Tripoli, May 26, 1797 (Treaty of Peace and Friendship between the United States of America and the Bey and Subjects of Tripoli of Barbary):

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen [Muslims],—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan [Mohammedan] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.”(Emphasis added)

Of course there were early Americans that did practice Christianity and some of the early settlers in this country were Christians, at least nominally, but there were also those who believed in deistic philosophy in those days. In fact, most of the influential Founding Fathers, held to deism and Freemasonry tenets rather than to Christianity.

“The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church…grieved at the toleration of sin in the Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that the corporate prayer of the Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil.”

– Leonard Ravenhill

How many “church programs” today do we see that are designed to cater to the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

Instead of preaching the gospel with conviction in the highways and hedges, and church leaders perfecting the saints when they gather, we see “churches” trying to reach the world with worldliness. Instead of the church going into all the world and preaching the gospel, some churches are setting up worldly entertainment centers for people to come to. Preaching the word boldly against sin and equipping the saints is out of style and out of step with much of today’s church. Creating an enticing environment, offering what itchy ears want is in style. While the preaching of the old rugged cross of Jesus Christ is removed for a shiny one to be sold, bought, and worn around necks.

Sadly today we can see those who are ashamed of the gospel are often offering another gospel that avoids the offense of the cross, avoids hell fire preaching, avoids the law that exposes sin, and even avoids repentance or changing it to mean the same as faith. How grievous this is, while self love and pleasure are also more important than loving God in many churches today. James Dobson’s  false self-esteem gospel is also more popular than Jesus message of denying self in many churches.

What sorrow it is to see so many buildings filled with people being taught error, fables, psychoheresy, and brought in by enticing words of deceit. Oh the deceptions filling the churches today that we cannot even tell the difference between them (of the so called church) and the world. We reckon some do have a FORM of godliness but have not the power of the Holy Spirit to live a true godly life and loving God above self, pleasure, and worldliness. It’s sad and grievous to see how many show love for the world and will not follow Jesus on the narrow road taking up the cross.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Ephesians 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Ecclesiastes 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

Hebrews 3:7-13 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; ) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Amen.

Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

The following quote is by false teacher James B. Tabor in his book “The Jesus Dynasty: The Hidden History of Jesus, His Royal Family, and the Birth of Christianity”:

“But history, by its very nature, is an open process of inquiry that cannot be bound by dogmas of faith. Historians are obliged to examine whatever evidence we have, even if such discoveries might be considered shocking or sacrilegious to some. The assumption of the historian is that all human beings have both a biological mother and father, and that Jesus is no exception. That leaves two possibilities–either Joseph or some other unnamed man was the father of Jesus.” (Emphasis his).

False teacher Harry Emerson Fosdick also denied the virgin in a letter written in 1945 saying “Of course I do not believe in the virgin birth or in that old-fashioned substitutionary doctrine of the atonement” (The Christian Beacon, Jan. 3, 1957).

A poll done in 1998 of 7,441 “Protestant clergy” in the U.S. showed one denomination having the lowest of 19% of it’s “ministers” not believing in the virgin birth to the highest being the Methodists in the 60% range of not believing in the virgin birth. (Jeffrey Hadden). We wonder what the % is today in 2014.

To deny the virgin is contrary to sound doctrine and is without a doubt heresy! James B. Tabor and others like him who teach such heresy should be marked and avoided for such contrary doctrine!

Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

The virgin birth is very clearly stated in the Bible:

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Matthew 1:18-25 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Luke 1:26-38 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
