Our Priority

“We typically pray for health, happiness, and success. We pray for personal comfort. We pray for solutions to remedy all the physical problems of life: such as healing, a place to live, a job, a car, a husband, a wife, children, a promotion, more money, and so on. As important as those things are, in some respects (especially to the people in need), they are low on the priority list in God’s kingdom. Jesus said we are not to be anxious about what we eat, drink, or wear when we know God supplies them all (Matt. 6:25–33). Our priority must be with the advancement of God’s kingdom. We live in a world that knows little about what’s truly valuable. People all around us are pursuing things that have no lasting value.”
