Indiscriminate Multiplication of UNSOUND false teachers

February 22, 2015 by

THEY SHALL HEAP TO THEMSELVES: Indiscriminate Multiplication of UNSOUND false teachers:

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

We reckon the UNSOUND “CHURCHES” will out number SOUND CHURCHES going forward:

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Sadly we keep seeing, hearing, and getting this from others: “We cannot find a sound church in our area.”

We reckon we are getting closer and closer to the times like Noah:

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Think about it: ONLY 8 Souls were saved amongst the enormous amounts of people who were destroyed in the days of Noah by the flood.

When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Is it harmful and a sin for a Christian to smoke/marijuana?

February 10, 2015 by

SMOKING MARIJUANA/CANNABIS

1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Is it a sin for a Christian to smoke pot (also called: marijuana, cannabis, weed, etc)?

“Stationed in Vietnam in the Army in 1970-71, I became a marijuana user. … marijuana changed my thinking more than liquor. It is a psychoactive drug with hallucinogenic properties. It is not an innocent play thing. It can mess with the depths of a man’s soul. Not everyone has bad experiences with the drug, but a lot do. It effects people differently, but depression, intense anxiety, and paranoid fear are common side effects, and acute psychosis is not infrequent. It has often been labeled a “gateway” drug, and it was definitely that for me. It removed inhibitions and led to the use of other drugs.” [Emphasis added]

– David Cloud

“… hemp (from which marijuana is made) is very useful in making strong rope. God also created sand (which is good), and if someone wants to eat sand by the spoonful, they may do so. However, they shouldn’t complain if they get a stomachache.

While God had a practical use for marijuana, man decided for some reason to burn it and kill his brain cells by inhaling its harmful fumes. Likewise, man decided to use the beautiful poppy to destroy his life with incredibly addictive heroin. Breathing in the burning fumes of anything is extremely unhealthy, and those who do so aren’t thinking very deeply. This is one reason why marijuana is called ‘dope.’ Those who smoke ‘grass’ will waste their days, wither their brain, and forget what they are doing.” [Emphasis added]

– Ray Comfort

The following quote is a message preached by the late J. B. Buffington (1923-2009) at Calvary Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida, in the early 1970s:

“Why do teenagers smoke marijuana? They do it to escape reality, to enter a fantasy world.” [Emphasis added]

– J. B. Buffington

Is marijuana also intelligently designed for humans to freely consume? Ray Comfort says: “Marijuana is a weed. It is part of the Genesis curse. Those who smoke it called it ‘dope’ for a reason.”

– Ray Comfort

The American Medical Association has warned that:

cannabis is a dangerous drug and as such is a public health concern. … Heavy cannabis use in adolescence causes persistent impairments in neuro-cognitive performance and IQ, and use is associated with increased rates of anxiety, mood, and psychotic-thought disorders.” [Emphasis added] (http://www.ama-assn.org/assets/meeting/2013i/i13-addendum-refcomm-k.pdf)

This is excerpted from “Science Suggests Smoking Pot,” Melanie Haiken, Forbes, Sept. 10, 2012:

“Here in California, marijuana is now treated as a minimal vice, with legalization inevitable and decriminalization for possession amounting to a tap on the hand. Medical marijuana cards are so easy to obtain, they’re the butts of endless popular jokes. On the famed Venice Beach boardwalk, booths tout on-the-spot ‘evaluations’ and customers walk out the door with newly minted photo ID cards in under an hour. High schools across the country celebrate April 20th as ‘420 Day,’ a fact I know because my daughter’s high school, San Rafael High, is nationally famous (or infamous, depending on your perspective) as the birthplace of the term 420. (Coined, supposedly, because 4:20 pm was the time at which kids would meet after school to light up.) … Is it really relatively harmless for young men–and women–to get high? Today’s headline was pretty bold: ‘Smoking pot leads to double the risk of developing testicular cancer.’ … Those who smoked pot recreationally were twice as likely to develop testicular germ cell tumors, or nonseminomas, the most common kind in men under 35, says a study in Cancer. Nonseminomas are faster growing and harder to treat–a deadly combination–say researchers at the University of Southern California. This study, though small, is actually the third study to link nonseminomas to pot use; the first two were also published in Cancer. … Last week’s headline was at least as alarming as this week’s. Researchers followed a group of youngsters from age 13 to age 38, and found that the IQs of regular pot smokers fell up to 8 points during the 25-year period, compared with the IQs of those who didn’t smoke pot, which stayed the same. … In a German study that followed a group of teenagers for ten years, those who smoked pot at least 5 times were more than twice as likely to develop schizophrenia. … The health risks of marijuana for women are much less well known, as of yet. But what is known is that pot smoking decreases fertility for both men and women, and appears to have the potential for genetic damage to future children.” [Emphasis added]

The following is excerpted from “Marijuana Led,” Science 2.0, Jan. 30, 2014:

“The prevalence of non-alcohol drugs detected in fatally injured drivers in the U.S. has been steadily rising and tripled from 1999 to 2010. Marijuana is the most commonly detected non-alcohol drug involved. Toxicological testing data from six U.S. states that routinely performed toxicological testing on drivers involved in fatal car crashes (California, Hawaii, Illinois, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and West Virginia) for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System shows that of 23,591 drivers who died within one hour of a crash, 39.7% tested positive for alcohol, which has remained steady. Other drugs were involved 24.8% of the time with marijuana showing sharp increases, from 4.2% to 12.2, which corresponds with increased usage of ‘medical’ marijuana. … Joanna Brady, author of the study, said, ‘The marked increase in its prevalence as reported in the present study is likely germane to the growing decriminalization of marijuana.’ Over the last 17 years, 20 states and Washington, D.C. have enacted legislation, and four more states have legislation pending, to decriminalize marijuana for medical use. ‘Although each of these states has laws that prohibit driving under the influence of marijuana, it is still conceivable that its decriminalization may result in increases in crashes involving marijuana.

Note: We are seeing things like “Medical Marijuana” to “Cannabis Pharmacy” today.

Revelation 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

sorceries: [pharmakeia: medication (“pharmacy”), i.e. (by extension) magic (literally or figuratively):—sorcery, witchcraft.]

– Strong’s Greek Dictionary

With thy sorcery (en têi pharmakiâi sou). En (instrumental use) and the locative case of pharmakia, old word (from pharmakeuô, to prepare drugs, from pharmakon, sorcery, Re 9:21), in N.T. only here and Ga 5:20 for sorcery and magical arts. If one is puzzled over the connection between medicine and sorcery as illustrated by this word (our pharmacy), he has only to recall quackery today in medicine (patent medicines and cure-alls), witch-doctors, professional faith-healers, medicine-men in Africa. True medical science has had a hard fight to shake off chicanery and charlatanry.”

Tobacco smoking

Question: Do you believe smoking to be a sin?

http://www.thebereancall.org/content/april-2012-q-and-a-2

“It’s ironic that man—the pinnacle of God’s creation—can so easily be enslaved by such simple things as … Smoking … From an objective perspective, what sense does it make to shove dry leaves into your mouth and light them on fire? What possible benefit could you derive from that? And yet countless people are enslaved to their smoking habits—it’s an addiction that effectively runs their lives.”

– John MacArthur

“In the jungles of Asia and South America, missionaries place tobacco leaves in their boots to stop leeches from getting into their shoes and crawling up their legs. Even leeches have the good sense to avoid tobacco. Smokers would be wiser to wrap their lips around the exhaust pipe of their car and breathe in the fumes. Both cigarette smoke and exhaust fumes are full of carcinogens, but cigarette smokers pay for their habit to the tobacco companies, and sadly they pay for their stupidity with their lives.”

– Ray Comfort

“… every year tobacco kills more Americans than did World War II — more than AIDS, cocaine, heroin, alcohol, vehicular accidents, homicide and suicide combined.” [Emphasis added] (http://www.lung.org/associations/states/colorado/tobacco/#Ref1)

“At the big pro-smoking rally in Washington in March, the tobacco tax protesters failed to mention that smoking provides jobs in health care by making millions of people sick. And for morticians by killing 419,000 people each year (3/20 HT). Or that smoking saves the Social Security system money by causing millions to die before collecting benefits. Really, it is incredible that after 30 years of solid scientific evidence linking smoking to premature death and horrid diseases, the tobacco industry can still persuade new volunteers to take deadly risks.” [Emphasis added] (http://calvarycontender.net/1994/4-1-94.html)

“The person who wants to stop smoking should throw away all his cigarettes and not buy any more. … Avoid the company of those who have the same problem (1 Corinthians 15:33), and avoid the places and circumstances which tempt you.
Finally, don’t try to battle a bad habit alone. Develop relationships with more mature Christians who will encourage and support you (Galatians 6:2). Spend time in prayer with them. Ask them to “check up on you” regularly, and be honest about your failures (James 5:16).
Biblical change is not just turning away from sin; it is turning toward righteousness. … Do not just stop sinning–start doing what is right. The good habits you build will replace the sinful ones.” [Emphasis added]

– John MacArthur

“When I was a young Christian I was struggling to quit smoking and had been defeated many times. Finally I stood up during a Wednesday prayer meeting and confessed this to the church and asked them to pray, and I have never smoked since then.”

– David Cloud

“The lung damage and death caused by tobacco smoking is a good example of the issues involved. Despite the cleaning mechanisms, some smoke, dust and toxins will reach the alveoli. The lungs and airways can temporarily overcome the injuries of smoking, sometimes for many years. However, various degrees of permanent lung damage will eventually ensue and, while smoking continues, will progress. Such damage can often cause early death. Human lungs can generally withstand disease for a long time because of the abundance of functional reserve built into them. Studies have shown that people, on average, must lose nearly ¾ of their lung tissue before serious respiratory difficulty develops.” [Emphasis added]

David Demick

“Smoking cannabis can lead to manic behaviour: Hyperactivity, aggression and delusion are all strongly linked with the drug, researchers warn.” Read more in link: (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2949585/Smoking-cannabis-lead-manic-behaviour-Hyperactivity-aggression-delusion-strongly-linked-drug-researchers-warn.html)

“Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins. These cigarette ingredients include nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, as well as formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT.
Nicotine is highly addictive. Smoke containing nicotine is inhaled into the lungs, and the nicotine reaches your brain in just six seconds.
While not as serious as heroin addiction, addiction to nicotine also poses very serious health risks in the long run.” (http://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/whatsinit.htm)

“There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, they create more than 7,000 chemicals. At least 69 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous.” (http://www.lung.org/stop-smoking/about-smoking/facts-figures/whats-in-a-cigarette.html)

“The complete list of chemicals added to your cigarettes is too long to list here. Here are some examples that will surprise you:

  • Fungicides and pesticides — Cause many types of cancers and birth defects.
  • Cadmium — Linked to lung and prostate cancer.
  • Benzene — Linked to leukemia.
  • Formaldehyde — Linked to lung cancer.
  • Nickel — Causes increased susceptibility to lung infections.”      (http://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/whatsinit.htm)

You can still get cancer from organic tobacco. It’s not the additives, though those don’t help, but the smoke itself from the combustion of the tobacco leaf that you inhale into your lungs. When smoking an organic American Spirit, you will inhale carbon monoxide, particulate matter,  carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and toxic nitrosamines. In Germany, where they actually regulate stuff that causes cancer, ads for “organic” cigarettes have been banned because of fears that they they mislead consumers into thinking they’re a healthier product. Which they do. Here in the U.S., ads for organic cigarettes aren’t banned, but after a 1997 lawsuit, American Spirit was forced to put a disclaimer on its site and ads that says, “Organic tobacco does not mean a safer cigarette.” And, “No additives in our tobacco does not mean a safer cigarette.” [Emphasis added] (http://ecocult.com/2014/whats-the-deal-with-american-spirit-cigarettes/)

Are any types of cigarettes safe to smoke?
No. All cigarettes cause damage, and any tobacco smoking is dangerous. All tobacco is addictive.”  (http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/tobaccocancer/cigarettesmoking/cigarette-smoking-safe-way-to-smoke)

ARE WE STILL ALIVE?

February 6, 2015 by

We want to thank those who have been concerned and take a moment to reply to the comments of “are we still alive?” and try to give a glimpse of why we have taken some time away from posting. Yes, we are all still alive, but because one of us who does most of the posting has been having health and disability issues it has taken us away to take care of those abounding needs.

We also have been dealing with potential transitional issues like looking for a better handicap accessible place to live, better ADA equipment, and trying to figure out how to deal with those things that are no longer physically feasible to do.

Though we have not been able to post in awhile, we have been surprised at the continued volume of visits and views from all over the world and thus has given us a strong incentive to get back to posting. If health issues improve and we can better accommodate those things that surround disability issues. Lord willing, we will be posting more often.

We thank those who have been able to help and those who pray for these often painful afflictions and difficult times.

We thought we would add a few videos and website links (below) that might be helpful for the disabled or for those of you who are healthy and have the means to help the disabled. Though we cannot endorse all those videos and links, we hope it will give you ideas of what could really help some to be more independent and less of a burden on others. Let’s not forget that in bearing burdens we are fulfilling the law of Christ:

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

These burdens are not necessarily people with disabilities, but they could be. The word “Bear” certainly gives the idea of enduring another’s weight of difficulties or troubles. These burdens surely could also be peculiar temptations, easily besetting sins, sorrows, and errors one needs help in overcoming (Gal 6:1). Romans focus is also on the stronger bearing infirmities (ασθενημα: scruple of conscience; ignorance) of the weak brother (Rom 14:1) pertaining to days and eating (Rom 14:5):

Romans 15:1-3 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

Galatians 5:13-14 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Church history has shown that Antinomians, Licentiousness, and the Liberty of the flesh has a strong tendency of misusing the doctrines of grace (2 Pet 2:1-22; Jude 1:4; Tit 2:11-13). “To be freed from the ceremonial law is the Gospel liberty; to pretend freedom from the moral law is Antinomianism.” (Adam Clark). The true manifestations of grace should be serving by loving one another.

Philippians 2:1-8 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

When I’ve seen others carry large loads for the disabled (and myself) they tend to grow weary in bearing the weight and the concern is that they endure and faint not in the bearing of the weight.

Galatians 6:9-10 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Perhaps before we start in our well doing, we ought to take some time and think about Christ’s LOVE for us and what He DID for us:

1 John 3:16-18 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

We have seen many types of infirmities of the weak:

– Infirmity in youth and inexperience (there is a great need for the stronger to bear these weak youth, often in teaching and guidance)

– Infirmity in age (there is a great need of visiting those aged in afflictions and can easily be found in nursing homes, adult homes, by knocking on a door …)

Let’s not forget James 1:27:

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

– Infirmities mentally (developmentally disabled)

– Infirmities in physical disabilities (blindness, deaf, mute, paralysis, etc.)

– Infirmities in lack of education and spiritual discernment

1 Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Comfort the feeble-minded (ολιγοψυχος little-spirited): The dispirited; faint-hearted; the downcast.

The weak: Who are weak in faith and knowledge.

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Having been around many disabled people, most do not want emotional pity, but a true compassionate commitment of actions and understanding of what is helpful.

Matthew 9:36-38 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Often those with infirmities can experience fear, frustration, isolation, fatigue, loneliness, unanswered questions, longing for escape, apathy, hope for healing, anger, etc.

Also, we have seen those who neglect those with infirmities because of fear, awkwardness, jealousy, embarrassment, frustration, losing heart (or “burnout”), choosing pleasure of sins instead of suffering in well doing, etc.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Hebrews 11:25-27 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Ephesians 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Luke 14:12-14 Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Mark 7:32-37 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

Mark 2:1-12 And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Matthew 11:4-5 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Leviticus 19:14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

Deuteronomy 27:18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Exodus 4:10-11 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

John 9:2-7 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Psalms 139:14-15 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Sadly today, as modern medical science and doctors are idolized, many scientists and doctors are destroying God’s creation and creatures (some in ignorance).

What’s in vaccines?
To name a few:
1. Aluminum
2. Formaldehyde
3. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
4. Thimerosal: “A methyl mercury compound that causes severe, permanent nervous system damage. Mercury is highly toxic to the brain. … [Many] Doctors and vaccine pushers LIE to you and say there is no mercury in vaccines.”

WILLIAM CAREY – CANDLE IN THE DARK

July 9, 2014 by

William Carey (1761-1834) was a Baptist missionary to India. He translated the Bible into forty different languages and dialects including Bengali and Sanskrit. This video shows how he sailed to India with a reluctant wife and four children to bring the message of Jesus in other languages and endured hardship for over 40 years. Though sadly the beginning and ending years of his life are excluded from this video, but can be found in written biographies of him and many other details not in this video.

Note: Many years after his death, apostasy has since found its way into Serampore University that was founded by William Carey. Missionary David Cloud did an interview with “Mr. Joy” the head of the New Testament department at Serampore University in 1983. Cloud said that “Mr. Joy said he believed there are many ways to become a Christian (by baptism, confirmation, being born into a Christian home, etc.) and he was convinced that sincere Hindus and Buddhists go to Heaven when they die.”

Thomas Armitage a Baptist historian wrote:

“William Carey’s ‘Inquiry into the Obligations of Christians to use means for the Conversion of the Heathen’ was published in 1792, but it found few readers and produced little effect. To most of the Baptists Carey’s views were visionary and even wild, in open conflict with God’s sovereignty. At a meeting of ministers, where the senior [John] Ryland presided, Carey proposed that at the next meeting they discuss the duty of attempting to spread the Gospel amongst the heathen. … Ryland, shocked, sprang to his feet and ordered Carey to sit down, saying: ‘When God pleases to convert the heathen, he will do it without your aid or mine!’”

Sounds like John Ryland was a Hyper Calvinist without the true understanding of the scriptures:

Romans 10:13-17 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 24:46-47 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
